bubble is a dating app that introduces you to one person at a time, up to three. You answer each other's questions before either of you sees a photo.

This is all anyone sees of you until you've both answered and both said yes. Then you see each other at the same moment — nobody gets to look first.
The problem

Busy all evening. Nobody to talk to.

Dating apps turned meeting someone into a numbers game. Hundreds of split-second decisions, a dozen conversations that never quite start, and an evening gone.

It's exhausting, and it's the format doing it. Almost nobody deletes a dating app because they stopped wanting to meet someone. They delete it because dating started to feel like work.

So we took the swiping out. Three people at a time, and enough room to actually talk to them.

How it works

Four steps, then a conversation.

    You're introduced
    When a slot is free we find someone who also has one. You can't browse, and nobody can pile up requests on you — a pairing only happens between two people who both have room.
  2. 2
    You both answer, blind
    Three questions each, written by you. Neither of you sees the other's answers until you've both written yours, so nobody can mirror whoever went first.
  3. 3
    You both decide
    Read what they wrote. If you both say yes, you see each other and a chat opens. If either says no, nothing happens — and neither of you is told which way the other went.
  4. 4
    Three is the limit
    To start something new, finish something. Either of you can free a slot at any time, so nobody is stuck waiting on someone who's gone quiet.

Nobody sees you first

Your photos stay private until you've both said yes, and then they unlock for both of you at once. No one gets to look you over and decide at their leisure.

No messages out of the blue

Nobody can write to you unless you've seen them and agreed to talk. There's no inbox full of openers from strangers, because there's no way to send one.

We never store where you are

Your exact location is never saved. People near you see roughly how far away you are, and that's the most anyone ever learns.
